Virtual Form Designer Treeview

Visual representation of the Virtual Forms and their structure.

Virtual Form Definition Filename (root)

Node Description

This is a root node

Node Name

Represent the Virtual Form Definition File

Properties Window

No properties window

 

Right Mouse click on Node Menu Items

Description

Create New Virtual Form

Opens the wizard (Properties window) that helps us to Create new Virtual Form

Refresh

Refreshes the TreeView

Expand All Nodes

Expands all the TreeNode objects, which includes all the child tree nodes, that are in the TreeView control

Collapse All Nodes

Collapses all the TreeNode objects, which includes all the child tree nodes, that are in the TreeView control

Check for Updates

Checks if there is a newer version available on the Virtual-Forms.com webpage, if available, it will download and install the latest version

 

 

Virtual Form (1 … n)

Node Description

Node that represent a Virtual Form. It can be theoretically unlimited (n) numbers of Virtual Forms in project.

Node Name

Node name for Virtual Form is build from: Form Caption (Virtual Form Name). E.g. Products (VF2)

Properties Window

For Properties for Virtual Form click here.

 

Right Mouse click on Node Menu Items

Description

Create New Virtual Form

Opens the wizard (Properties window) that helps us to Create new Virtual Form

Show Properties

Opens the properties window for this Node

Delete Virtual Form

Deletes the selected Virtual Form

Refresh

Refreshes the TreeView

 

 

Grid Control

Node Description

Node that represent the Grid control of the section (for the first section it is for the main table) of the Virtual Form. In one section there can be one Grid control

Right Mouse click on Node Menu Items

Description

Add Grid Columns

Scans the datasource table and opens a new form where we can select the columns that we want to be present in this Grid Control. It only shows us the columns that are not already present in the Grid Control

Show Properties

Opens the properties window for this Node

Reorder Grid Columns

Opens a new form with all the Grid Columns where we can reorder the Tab order of the columns. We can reorder them with Move Up & Move Down buttons

Refresh

Refreshes the TreeView

 

 

Grid Field (1 … n)

Node Description

Node that represent the Grid control fields for the parent Grid control. Each Grid control can have theoretically unlimited (n) of fields.

Node Icons

The node Icon represents the Data type of the field (Numeric, Text, Date)

Node Name

Node name for Grid Field is build from: Field Caption (Field width in characters, Decimal places). E.g. “Price (10,2)”

For Properties for Grid Field click here.

Description

Edit control

Node Description

Node that represent the Edit control of the section (for the first section it is for the main table) of the Virtual Form. In one section there can be one Edit control.

Scans the datasource table and opens a new form where we can select the fields that we want to be present in this Edit Control. It only shows us the fields that are not already present in the Edit Control

Edit Field (1 … n)

Node Description

Node that represent the Edit control fields for the parent Edit control. Each Edit control can have theoretically unlimited (n) of fields.

Node Icons

Node name for Edit Field is build from: Field Caption (Field Maximum Length, Field width in characters, Decimal places) E.g. “Price (0,10,2)”

Other node specifics

Back color on node = Black, this field is not visible at runtime

Fore color of node = Red, this field is required at runtime

Description

Add Edit Fields

Scans the datasource table and opens a new form where we can select the fields that we want to be present in this Edit Control. It only shows us the fields that are not already present in the Edit Control

Delete Edit Field

Deletes the selected Edit Field

Show Properties

Opens the properties window for this Node

Relationships

Node Description

Reserved for defining possible relationships (e.g. Order > Order Detail)

Opens the wizard (Properties window) that helps us to create new Relationship

 

Relation (1 … n)

Node Description

Node that represent the relation to the parent section. It can have theoretically unlimited (n) of relations.

Node name for Relation is Relation Caption

Description

Add new Relationship

Opens the wizard (Properties window) that helps us to create new Relationship

Delete Relationship

Deletes the selected Relationship

 

Note:

Each Relation is made from Grid and Edit Control and this controls are made from columns and fields, the properties and right mouse menu items are just like the one that are in the main section.
